Running towards the kitchen, we clumsily hid ourselves and just in time, for in that moment the enemies entered. They were hideous things with their twisted jaws, baring enormous fangs and salivating as if in anticipation of their next victim. A stench of human blood seeped out. One moved, separating from the rest. Slowly dragging its massive bony wings and scattering sand. Creeping ever closer, it seemed to have sniffed us out. Sweating, we were losing our grip of each other.    

Our hearts were racing a million per second.

We were going to be discovered!
